Elon Musk Vows Jail Time for Financiers Behind Tesla Arson Attacks

Elon Musk: “Those Who Financed Tesla Arson Attacks Will Go to Prison”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has broken his silence on the recent arson attacks that targeted several Tesla vehicles in Las Vegas, promising harsh consequences for those behind the scenes.

In a tweet on Tuesday via X (formerly Twitter), Musk made a firm declaration:

“Those who financed the attacks against Tesla will go to prison.”

The post comes weeks after the dramatic incident in which multiple Tesla vehicles were set on fire in a targeted assault described by officials as domestic terrorism.

U.S. Charges Filed in Las Vegas Tesla Arson Case

Last month, the U.S. Department of Justice took action. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced charges against three individuals connected to the coordinated arson attacks on Tesla property in Nevada.

“These acts were nothing short of domestic terrorism,” Bondi said during a press briefing.

The charges include felony destruction of property, conspiracy to commit arson, and possible federal terrorism-related counts.

The attacks raised alarm bells within the tech and energy sectors, with many viewing Tesla as a symbol of clean innovation—and therefore a high-profile target.

Why the Attack on Tesla Matters

Tesla has long been a disruptor in the auto and energy sectors, pushing boundaries with electric vehicles, solar technology, and autonomous driving. Targeting Tesla, especially through violent sabotage, is seen by many as an attack on progress itself.

In his tweet, Musk labeled the firebombing as an “evil attack,” underlining the seriousness of the incident.

Who’s Behind the Funding? Investigations Ongoing

While three attackers have been charged, investigations are still ongoing into the financial backers behind the attack.

The FBI and ATF are reportedly collaborating to trace funding sources that facilitated the logistics of the arson—such as transportation, fuel, and communications equipment.
