President Akufo-Addo Warns Against Risks to Agenda 111 Projects
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has voiced concerns about the future of the Agenda 111 hospital projects, highlighting the possibility of abandonment if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the 2024 elections. Speaking in the Ashanti Region, the President noted that the NDCโs history of opposing the initiative raises fears they may halt its progress, jeopardizing critical healthcare infrastructure.
President’s Concerns
President Akufo-Addo emphasized his administrationโs achievements in advancing the Agenda 111 initiative, citing completed or near-complete projects like the Sewua Infectious Disease Centre, Komfo Anokye Maternity and Childrenโs Hospital, and several district hospitals in Kumawu and Asante Akyim. He reaffirmed his commitment to seeing significant portions of these projects completed before his term ends.
Appeal to Voters
The President called on voters to carefully consider the potential risks of a change in leadership, urging them to prioritize continuity to ensure the successful completion of these crucial healthcare facilities. He appealed to voters to reflect on past setbacks caused by leadership changes, warning against decisions that could reverse the gains made in healthcare infrastructure development.
Akufo-Addoโs message highlights the broader importance of the Agenda 111 initiative in addressing Ghanaโs healthcare challenges while urging voters to weigh progress against potential disruptions.
