Okaikwei North MCE Aspirant Joins H.E. Mahama on GARID Project Inspection
Abofu, 2nd April 2025 — Joshua Nii Armah Solomon, a leading Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) aspirant for Okaikwei North, joined H.E. John Dramani Mahama and a high-level government delegation to inspect progress on the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) storm drain project in Abofu.
Project Overview: Enhancing Flood Resilience
The GARID initiative (funded by the World Bank) replaces outdated trapezoidal drains with wider rectangular structures, engineered to:

✔ Boost climate resilience
✔ Mitigate flooding in vulnerable communities across Greater Accra
