NPPโs Frank Annoh-Dompreh Vows to Frustrate Parliament Over Ablekuma North Representation
NPP Threatens Parliamentary Disruption Over Ablekuma North
Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will frustrate parliamentary business until the Ablekuma North Constituency is properly represented in Parliament. The collation of results for the constituency has been stalled for a month due to disputes, including an incident where property at the Electoral Commissionโs regional office was destroyed.
Annoh-Dompreh issued the warning after visiting the NPPโs Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North, Ekua Afriyie. He accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of obstructing the Electoral Commissionโs work and vowed that the NPP would not back down.

NDC Accused of Disrupting Electoral Process
Annoh-Dompreh blamed the NDC, led by Mahama Ayariga, for denying the NPPโs victory in Ablekuma North and disrupting the collation process. He warned that the NDC would face unrest in Parliament until the issue is resolved.
โIf the NDC continues to deny that the NPP won the seat and distract the Electoral Commissionโs process, they will never have peace in Parliament,โ he stated.
NPP Demands Accountability from IGP
The Minority Chief Whip also called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to hold NDC supporters accountable for the damage caused during the collation exercise. He warned that if the IGP failed to act, the NPP would continue to demonstrate its displeasure.
Annoh-Dompreh emphasized the NPPโs commitment to ensuring a fair resolution, stating, โWe are giving the EC one week; they must come and declare our candidate as the winner of the Ablekuma North election.โ

Both NDC and NPP Claim Victory in Ablekuma North
Meanwhile, both Ewurabena Aubyn of the NDC and Ekua Afriyie of the NPP have erected billboards claiming victory in the disputed election. The standoff reflects the intense competition and high stakes in the Ablekuma North constituency.
The NPP remains adamant that Ekua Afriyie is the rightful winner, while the NDC insists on a thorough review of the results. The Electoral Commissionโs decision in the coming days will be crucial in resolving the impasse.
