The Ashanti Region recorded a turnout of 17,337 voters out of 20,378 registered participants, translating to an 85% turnout rate. Areas of Concern Raised by the NDC in this Election 2024
1. Indelible Ink Issues
The party expressed serious concerns over the quality of the indelible ink used, which could be easily wiped off. This flaw undermines the credibility of the voting process. The NDC has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to urgently address this issue by ensuring that durable and tamper-proof indelible ink is used for the general elections.
2. Delays in Offinso North Constituency
Late delivery of the votersโ register caused significant delays in the Offinso North Constituency, leading to frustration among voters. The NDC urged the EC to streamline its logistics to ensure timely delivery of all election materials during the main election day.
3. BVD Machine Mismanagement in Kwadaso
In the Kwadaso Constituency, the local EC Director reportedly stored Biometric Verification Devices (BVD) in her office, contrary to directives that these sensitive devices be kept at district police armouries. The NDC has filed a formal complaint with the EC and the Sofoline Police, demanding a thorough investigation and accountability for this breach of security protocols.
