Finali Limited Clarifies Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s Residential Status
Finali Limited, the landlord of Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has clarified the terms of his residential status agreement. This follows a formal request from Ablakwa to confirm his tenancy at Plot No. 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard, Airport Hills.
Background: Ablakwa’s Request for Clarification
The request was prompted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, which required Ablakwa to provide details about his residential status, occupancy, and property ownership. In a letter to Finali Limited dated Monday, February 3, Ablakwa emphasized his commitment to accountability, despite objections from the Chairman of the Appointments Committee.
Finali Limited’s Detailed Response
In response, Finali Limited sent a letter to Bernard Ahiafor, Chairman of the Appointments Committee, outlining the specifics of Ablakwa’s tenancy. The letter included details of the tenancy agreement dated March 1, 2017, and the land title certificate issued on December 15, 2017.
Key points from the letter include:
- Land Title Certificate: Issued on December 15, 2017, and registered as GA. 53985 Volume 02 Folio 1440 for a 0.29-acre plot transferred from Finali Limited to Husni Altheebeh.
- Tenancy Agreement: Dated March 1, 2017, between Husni Altheebeh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa & Nuhela Seidu, with Finali Limited’s consent granted on August 8, 2017.
- Renewal Agreement: Dated March 1, 2022, confirming the tenancy is still active.
Finali Limited also attached copies of the Land Title Certificate, Consent Certificate, Tenants’ Undertaking, and Lessee’s Acknowledgement for reference.
Airport Hills: A Unique Residential Community
The letter highlighted that Airport Hills is primarily an owner-occupied community, with a limited number of rental properties subject to Finali Limited’s consent. This underscores the exclusivity and strict oversight of residential arrangements in the area.
