Ghanaian Afrobeats star King Promise has officially joined the elite club of Artiste of the Year winners after claiming the coveted title at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on May 12, 2025, two-time AOTY winner Stonebwoy offered heartfelt congratulations:

A Night to Remember: King Promise Dominates TGMA 2025
King Promise had a standout night at the 2025 TGMAs, walking away with four major awards:
- 👑 Artiste of the Year
- 🎶 Best Afropop Song of the Year
- 💿 Album/EP of the Year
- 🎤 Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste
His triumphant win came after falling just short in 2024, when Stonebwoy took home the AOTY crown. But with 10 nominations in 2025, King Promise’s comeback was nothing short of spectacular.
His award-winning album and viral hits like “Paris,” “Terminator,” and “Favorite Story” made him a fan favorite and a critics’ choice.

A Nod from a Giant: Stonebwoy’s Legacy in AOTY
Stonebwoy, who was also nominated for the Artiste of the Year alongside Black Sherif, King Paluta, Kweku Smoke, Joe Mettle, and Team Eternity Ghana, showed class and sportsmanship in welcoming King Promise to the winners’ league.
Stonebwoy previously won the AOTY title in 2015 and again at the 25th TGMA in 2024. That 2024 win saw him outshine the likes of Black Sherif, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, and Sarkodie.
He also took home six awards that night, including
