Ghanaian artist manager and entertainment pundit Bullgod (formerly Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson) has opened up about his decision to take legal action against Shatta Wale. This follows public accusations from the dancehall star that Bullgod was involved in the death of Fennec Okyere, the late manager of rapper Kwaw Kese.
In a candid interview on UTVโs United Showbiz on May 3, 2025, Bullgod explained that his lawsuit wasnโt driven by revenge but a desire to clear his name in a highly sensitive and unresolved murder case.
โIt Was About My Name, Not Revengeโ โ Bullgod
โThis is something I have gone through a lot over. Right now, it is a cold case. Nobody has been arrested over it. Itโs unresolved. So, for you to come and say that, itโs sad,โ Bullgod shared.

He described the emotional toll the accusations had on his family, especially his wife and children, which compelled him to seek legal redress. According to him, the pain was too personal to ignore.
โMy family went through a lot, especially my wife and kids. It wasnโt easy. So, I had to take him on to prove that what he said was false.โ
Shatta Waleโs Accusation and The Legal Battle
In November 2022, Shatta Wale publicly alleged that Bullgod had a hand in the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere, a case that remains unsolved. This prompted Bullgodโs legal team to file a GHยข1 million defamation lawsuit at the Accra High Court, stating that the claims were malicious and damaging.

Bullgod emphasized that his decision to pursue the case was not to โpunish anybodyโ but to correct a public falsehood that had severely impacted his life and career.
Settlement Terms and Shatta Waleโs Apology
In 2023, both parties reportedly agreed to withdraw the case after negotiations. Shatta Wale was to apologize publicly and cover Bullgodโs legal fees.
However, Bullgod stated that Shatta Wale failed to meet the agreed conditions, especially regarding the payment of legal fees.
โTypical of him, he didnโt fulfil his end of the bargainโฆ So, my lawyers went back to court to enforce the judgement.โ
Eventually, Shatta Wale officially apologized on April 30, 2025, ending the public legal dispute, at least partially.
Final Settlement Still Pending
Despite the apology, Bullgod revealed that the GHยข100,000 legal fees remain unpaid.
โAll that is left is that he settles my lawyers. The legal fees are about GHยข100,000.โ
โLetโs Move Onโ โ Bullgod Calls for Closure
Bullgod reiterated that his goal was always to clear his name, not to bring down Shatta Wale. He hopes that the matter can be settled soon so both sides can move forward.
This high-profile clash between two of Ghanaโs biggest entertainment figures underscores the importance of accountability and reputation in the industry. While the legal dust may be settling, the emotional and professional implications of such public accusations will linger.
