Ghanaian highlife icon Kwabena Kwabena has taken a bold step from the stage to the student political arena, announcing his candidacy for the Student Representative Council (SRC) President at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Known offstage as George Kwabena Adu, the award-winning singer is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at UPSA, where he now hopes to serve as the student body’s leader.
According to his manager, Nana Poku Ashis, Kwabena’s decision to contest the upcoming SRC elections on May 30, 2025, stems from a desire to actively contribute to student welfare and campus development.
“He believes in serving the student community and giving back, not just through music but also through leadership,” Ashis shared.
A Solid Educational Background
Kwabena Kwabena is no stranger to academic achievement. He is an alumnus of St. Peter’s Secondary School and holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) from the Accra Polytechnic, now known as Accra Technical University (ATU official site).
