In a moving and faith-affirming testimony, Love Oyedepo Ogah, daughter of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), has recounted a terrifying moment from her childhood when hired killers stormed their home with the intent to assassinate her father — but left without ever seeing him, even as he stood in plain sight.
Love, now a minister and wife of Pastor Stephen Ogah, shared this remarkable story during a recent church sermon, detailing what she described as a miraculous divine intervention that saved her father’s life.
“Where Is He?”: The Day Killers Invaded the Oyedepo Household
Recounting the experience, Love explained that the incident occurred while she was still in secondary school. One night, armed men believed to be hired assassins broke into their family home. Their mission, she said, was clear from the moment they stepped through the gates: they were there to kill Bishop Oyedepo.
“We were visited in our house by hired killers,” she said, her voice filled with both awe and conviction.
“They came in, specifically stating from the time they entered the gate, that they were here to execute him—by him, I mean my father.”
The men searched the house from top to bottom in a frenzy, shouting and demanding to know, “Where is he?” as they moved from room to room. According to Love, what happened next was nothing short of a miracle.
A Divine Shield: “He Was Looking at Them, But They Couldn’t See Him”
In a moment that has stayed with her ever since, Love said her father was present in the house the entire time, watching the attackers search for him, standing right before them, but somehow completely invisible to their eyes.
“The most interesting thing that has stuck with me from when I was a child is that he was looking at them the entire time—but they couldn’t see him,” she revealed.
“They ransacked our house for hours.”
Despite the extensive and aggressive search by the intruders, Bishop Oyedepo was never found. They eventually left the premises without harming anyone.
After the ordeal, the family was still trying to process what had happened when Bishop Oyedepo stepped out of his room calmly and without a scratch.
“He just came out and said, ‘I was staring at them the entire time,’” Love recounted.
Faith, Protection, and the Power of Prayer
The story, now circulating widely online and gaining viral attention, has touched many believers and non-believers alike. For followers of Bishop Oyedepo and members of the Living Faith Church, the account reinforces their belief in divine protection and the supernatural covering over God’s anointed.
This testimony comes as no surprise to many who are familiar with Bishop Oyedepo’s teachings on faith, spiritual warfare, and the authority of the believer. Known for preaching boldly about divine exemption and God’s hedge of protection, this experience seems to validate the very principles he has taught for decades.
