Commander Sabina Dennison Takes Helm as New CO of Ghana Navy Supply Base
The Ghana Navy Supply Base (GNSB) in Takoradi has officially inducted Commander Sabina Dennison as its new Commanding Officer (CO). The ceremony marked the transition of leadership from outgoing Commander Prosper Cudjoe Korto, who has been reassigned as the Command Supply Officer at the Western Naval Command.
Outgoing Commander Praises Team, Encourages Success
In his farewell address, Commander Korto expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the dedication of the unit’s personnel. He urged them to extend the same commitment to the new CO.
“I humbly assumed office bearing in mind that many had come before me and captained the ship without running it aground. I continued in their footsteps,” he said.
Commander Korto encouraged Commander Dennison to embrace challenges with teamwork, discipline, and dedication, emphasizing that these qualities would ensure her success. He also thanked corporate institutions for their support in completing key infrastructural projects at the base.
Deputy Chief of Staff Comments Leadership
Rear Admiral Samuel Agyenim-Boateng, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics at the General Headquarters, commended Commander Korto for his remarkable leadership and contributions to the GNSB. He noted that the unit’s success was a reflection of strong leadership and commitment.
“The success of any military unit depends on strong leadership and commitment. Commander Korto’s achievements in infrastructural development have significantly improved the operational efficiency of GNSB,” he stated.
Rear Admiral Agyenim-Boateng urged Commander Dennison to take up her responsibilities with determination and inspire her team to achieve greater success.
“The success of the unit will depend on your ability to inspire, coordinate, and ensure efficiency in logistics operations,” he added.
New CO Pledges to Build on Predecessor’s Legacy
In her acceptance speech, Commander Sabina Dennison expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the GNSB. She acknowledged the remarkable achievements of her predecessor and pledged to build upon his legacy.
“I am deeply honored to take on this role and will do my very best, with the help of God and my team, to uphold the confidence reposed in me,” she said.
Commander Dennison called for the support of all officers, ratings, and civilian staff to advance the vision of the GNSB and ensure its continued success.
