NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of collaborating with the Electoral Commission (EC) to skew the December 7 elections in their favor. Speaking at a mini rally in Sekondi, Western Region, on Tuesday, November 26, Mahama alleged that the EC had employed 65 NPP members as temporary staff for the Gomoa East constituency in the Central Region.
John Mahama Accuses EC and NPP of Election Collusion
Mahama claimed these individuals, identified as NPP members, were selected based on recommendations from an NPP Member of Parliament and party executives. He argued that such actions validate the NDCโs concerns about potential election manipulation.
The former president emphasized the need for vigilance during the polls, warning supporters to guard against electoral malpractice. Referring to alleged evidence from Gomoa East, Mahama stated:
โA video from Gomoa East shows an NPP MP and executives submitting 65 party members to an EC official for recruitment. If such individuals are at polling stations, how can we ensure fairness? This situation highlights the collusion between the EC and NPP to rig the elections.โ
Mahamaโs claims come amidst broader concerns about election transparency and fairness. He called on party members and Ghanaians to remain alert and ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
